HACKNEY COUNCIL ESTATES WORKSHOP – London

This workshop had the purpose of engaging young people living in 5 estates of east London into Photography. The challenge of this project was to get young people with no experience involved into photographic practice and to experience the creative process of photography. For this we sued a professional SLR camera delivering high quality images as well as professional flashes for studio shoot. There was a very good response to this pilot project because a total of 49 participants attended over the 4 weeks time. At the end of the project one student, Yolanda Lear, discovered a personal interest and decided to keep on learning photography as well as using Rising Tide equipments for photo shoots for private uses and promotional portraits for the BBC Academy.
